The club was launched by the team at Queen’s Court in Windsor who pulled out all the stops to host a truly unforgettable birthday bash for ten extraordinary residents from Care UK homes across Berkshire and Surrey – together boasting a remarkable combined age of 1,002 years!
To celebrate the resident’s birthday milestones, the team at Queen's Court care home decorated the lounge with balloons and banners, and the home’s head chef baked an extra special ‘1002’ birthday cake for the residents and their family to enjoy.

Betty Irene Harris, a 100-year-old from Mountbatten Grange, in Windsor, suggests that drinking brandy is the key to her long life. Meanwhile, 100-year-old WWII veteran Ruth Johnson, who resides at Seccombe Court, in Banbury, credits her remarkable age to enjoying half a glass of antioxidant-rich red wine from the Swiss Lakes.
Retired teacher Albert Stiles, 100, from Trymview Hall, in Bristol, celebrated his membership in the Centenarian Club by sharing his secret to longevity: beetroot. Joining him was 101-year-old Mary Potter from Catherine Court, in High Wycombe, who credited her long life to enjoying life's luxuries by indulging in cakes, especially jam doughnuts.
Others believe exercise and keeping active is the key to living a long healthy life. 100-year-old Daisy Taylor from Manor Lodge, in Chelmsford, credits her longevity to regular yoga practice. Similarly, Margaret Cameron, a centenarian at Cathkin House, in Glasgow, attributes her long life to porridge and dancing.
