Kentford Manor and Perry Manor shortlisted for Great British Care Awards

Two Care UK homes have been shortlisted in their respective regions for this year’s Great British Care Awards.

In addition, Care UK has been nominated for the Care Employer Award.

The awards recognise and pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their field across the care sector.

Care UK is shortlisted for two awards in the East of England region this year, with Aine Burke and Diane Matthews from Kentford Manor nominated for the Dementia Carer Award, alongside Care UK being nominated for the Care Employer Award.

The Dementia Carer Award celebrates an individual who is passionate about improving dementia care, as well as a proven ability to provide high-quality, personalised care to older people with dementia.

Both Aine and Diane were nominated due to their compassionate approach to their work, enabling people with dementia to live fulfilling lives.

The Care Employer Award recognises employers’ strong leadership skills, effective workforce development and adaptability to evolving social care priorities, with specific dedication to person-centred care.

With 15,000 colleagues overall, and more than 600 colleagues undertaking apprenticeships across the business, and a new, early careers strategy that launched in 2024, Care UK has demonstrated a strong ability to develop the workforce and grow in reputation as an employer of choice.

In the West Midlands Region, Katrina Evans from Perry Manor is shortlisted for the Care Home Frontline Leaders Award.

This award is for a supervisor, senior care worker, team leader or first-time manager who has demonstrated their commitment to improving care and support delivery within their team, as well as inspiring them to strive for excellence.

Katrina was nominated for her ability to constantly see the best in the team and inspire them through her leadership style and personal qualities.

The East of England Region awards ceremony will take place on 31st of October at Milton Keynes Dons, and the West Midlands awards ceremony will take place on 1st of November at the ICC, Birmingham.
