Charlotte Levin

Home Manager

Charlotte Levin

I began working for Care UK in 2017, and it was evident from my first day that Care UK has a strong ethos and is passionate about delivering high standards of care.

Care UK is continually expanding and has many support teams available.

Before joining Ambleside, I was the deputy manager at Scarlet house. Prior to Care UK I held a number of roles at a domiciliary care and live-in care provider.

As Home Manager, it’s important to be a good listener, approachable, accommodating, motivated and have high standards.

My favourite part of the day is spending time with the residents and making a difference to their lives. It’s fantastic to see residents happy and smiling. Making a positive impact on their lives makes the stresses of the job worth it, and I look forward to continuing fulfilling residents’ lives at Ambleside.

It also makes me proud to see colleagues develop and progress their careers through mentoring and coaching. I enjoy sharing my skills and knowledge with the team and helping colleagues to follow and achieve their career aspirations.

Outside of work, I love going on days out with my son, eating out with friends, walking my dogs and going on holiday.

Staci Reeson
Staci Reeson
Customer Relations Manager

I spent 16 years in the UV Printing Industry, then ran my own marketing consultancy. It was another CRM who gave me a push to apply, I am so glad I did. Everyday is different, you start to build some wonderful relationships from the very first point of contact. I see it as a real privilege to help families, friends and future residents make that sometimes very difficult decision to make a move into a home. We have many who come for respite stays, it's amazing that the families always stay in touch afterwards.

Outside of work I love to go sailing or spending time away racing with Europe’s most successful off road race team.

Dawn Brown
Dawn Brown
Lifestyle Lead

I was promoted to Lifestyle Lead at Ambleside after working as a Lifestyle Coordinator for 10 months. I joined Care UK because I had worked here previously and found it to be a great care provider to work for.

Before this, I was working a trained chef and manager of a restaurant, and I also have my wings as an air hostess.

As Lifestyle Lead, you need to be organised, self-motivated and proactive, as well as happy and friendly with a bubbly personality. My favourite part of the day is having one-to-one time with residents for a coffee and a chat. I love hearing about residents’ lives and experiences.

My team make me proud – we all work hard to keep residents active and help them to lead fulfilling lives.

Outside of work, I volunteer at my mum’s assisted living home, helping residents with cleaning and washing. I also like to exercise, socialise and spend time with my three children.

Carl Fox
Carl Fox
Head Chef

Before joining Care UK, I was the Head Chef and Director of my own company, Carl’s Kitchens. Owning my own business was a big career highlight, but I decided to work at Ambleside because it offered a good work-life balance.

My role is to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and that we serve quality food. In this role, you need to be caring, dedicated and empathetic. Cooking quality food and seeing the residents’ happy faces makes me proud of what I do.

Patricia Harris
Patricia Harris
Business Administrator

I have worked in administration for more than 40 years, supporting staff and management across a variety of roles. Before joining Care UK, I was an Office Manager, but when the opportunity came along to change my career path and work in the care industry, I decided to give it a go. It’s a decision I’m very glad I made.

I believe that to do my role well you need to be kind, friendly, approachable and have a good sense of humour. Every morning, I arrive at Ambleside excited to see what the day will bring. I enjoy supporting colleagues, residents and families, and I feel proud when I know I’ve helped make someone’s day a little easier or brighter.

The most important part of my role is making sure I am here to assist and support everyone who needs me, helping to keep our home running smoothly so residents feel comfortable and cared for.

One of my biggest career highlights was working on an ocean liner and being paid to see the world.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, gardening, walking and reading.

Lauren Scarsbrook
Lauren Scarsbrook
Dementia Champion and Unit Manager

From my very first day at Ambleside, it was clear how passionate Care UK is about delivering high-quality care, residents truly come first in everything we do. Before joining Care UK, I worked as a Team Leader in an all-dementia care home.

I originally joined Care UK as a Care Assistant and have since progressed to Team Leader and now Unit Manager. This career progression has been a real highlight for me, and I feel privileged to lead such a dedicated team. To do my role well, I believe it’s important to be motivational, empathetic, adaptable and kind, with strong problem-solving skills and a clear vision. I am proud of the colleagues I work alongside and the high standard of care we deliver every day.

My favourite part of the day is walking into the home and seeing Ambleside’s residents. It is a privilege to be able to make a difference in their lives, supporting them to live in a way that is fulfilling and meaningful. The most important part of my role is ensuring residents and colleagues alike feel supported.

Outside of work, I love days out with family and friends, running, and going on holiday.

Lisa Briggs
Lisa Briggs
Unit Manager

Before joining the team at Ambleside, I worked as a Care Manager in a memory care setting. When we moved house, I visited Ambleside and instantly fell in love with it. I knew this was where I wanted to be.

Empathy is paramount in my role. I believe it’s important to be a ‘safe space’ for those we care for. I strive to be someone that residents and colleagues can turn to when they need comfort, reassurance or support. Being approachable, organised and a clear communicator also helps me give my best every day.

My favourite part of my job is being that safe space for Ambleside’s residents. Supporting people to live their best lives is a privilege, and every problem I’ve helped solve for a resident has felt like a personal highlight.

The most important part of my role is ensuring excellent care and guidance, as well as creating an environment where everyone feels valued, safe and well supported. I’m proud when someone tells me I’ve made a difference, whether it’s a resident, a relative or a colleague. If I can help, I will.

Outside of work, I’m a clinical hypnotherapist and I love exploring herbal medicines.

Faizan Ali
Faizan Ali
Unit Manager

I was drawn to Care UK for its excellent reputation for providing high-quality care and the opportunities it offers for career progression. I have completed training in leadership and management, safeguarding, dementia care, person-centred care, and health and safety. Before joining Care UK, I worked in another care role where I was accountable for leading a team and ensuring the highest standards of care were delivered.

To do my role well, I believe you need strong leadership, empathy, patience and good communication. It’s also essential to be fully committed to colleagues and residents alike. My favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and seeing them happy, comfortable and well cared for. One of my proudest career highlights has been leading colleagues through a successful care inspection, where our hard work and dedication were recognised.

I take pride in supporting residents to live fulfilling lives with dignity and comfort, while guiding my team with compassion. The most important part of my role is making sure residents always receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and keeping active through physical exercise including running.

Head Housekeeper

I joined Ambleside care home in 2017 as it was close to where I lived, and I had a history in private housekeeping. To be a good housekeeper, you need to be organised, have an eye for detail and not be afraid of hard work!

I enjoy caring for staff and residents, so this is an ideal work atmosphere for me. I enjoy chatting to residents about their life history and seeing a lovely smile on their faces!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking long walks, reading and visiting the theatre!

Having come from the automotive industry into the care industry looking for new challenges and career development, I enjoy my Maintenance role at Ambleside as I love that every day is different. As a Maintenance Manager, it’s important that everybody living and working at Ambleside is and feels safe on the premises, and I like this feeling of responsibility. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, travelling and naturally – DIY!
