Care UK shortlisted for six Leaders in Care Awards

Care UK has been shortlisted for six Leaders in Care Awards, with voting now open to decide on the winners.

The awards celebrate individuals and businesses in the social care sector, recognising their outstanding achievements.

This year, Care UK is shortlisted for the Care Provider of the Year category, with the organisation’s dedication to new ideas being recognised in the Innovation in Care Homes category.  

Next Level Tea is a first for the sector and was created in partnership with boutique family-run company Tea From The Manor. In with a chance of winning the Innovation in Care Homes category, Next Level Tea is designed to provide a wider range of beverage choices for residents with dysphagia who require a modified diet.

Alongside this, Care UK’s Wildlife Gardens Project has been shortlisted for Sustainability in Care Homes. The project has seen homes prioritising their outdoor spaces, celebrating biodiversity, and getting involved with the community to create bird houses and wildflower patches.

Additionally, Forrester Court could be named the Care Kitchen Team of the Year. The close-knit team, based in Paddington, prioritise recognising their collaboration and hard work to ensure a high-quality dining experience for every resident.

Operations Support Manager, Valentin Catanescu, is nominated for the Leader of the Future award after his consistent demonstration of strong leadership potential and forward-thinking approach to care delivery.

The Registered Manager of the Year category sees two Care UK Home Managers shortlisted, with Maggie Ziemianska from Chelmsford’s Manor Lodge and Maria Covington from Weald Heights in Sevenoaks being recognised for their outstanding commitment to care.

The winners will be announced on 7th October at The National Conference Centre in Birmingham.
