A Kidderminster care home welcomed a special VIP guest to officially open its revamped facilities.
Family and friends from the community were among the first to discover the refurbished reception area, café, dining rooms and gardens at Care UK’s Brook Court, on Oldnall Road, as part of a special open day event.
Councillor Doug Hine, the Town Mayor of Kidderminster and guest of honour, was in attendance to officially cut the ribbon on the new facilities, while local performer Karen Marsh got everyone’s toes tapping to vintage tunes.
The revamped café has been stocked full of delicious handmade pastries and cakes for all visitors to enjoy, while the landscaped gardens now feature new, comfortable furniture for residents and their guests to enjoy a spot of nature.
Shirley Summerbell, Home Manager at Brook Court, said: “Our refurbishment has been weeks in the making; now, the secret’s out, and we’ve loved celebrating the end of the works with the local community.
“We’ve had a wonderful afternoon, and hearing all the positive comments from our guests made the wait all worth it. We’d like to say a big thank you to the Town Mayor, Councillor Doug Hine, for doing us the honour of officially cutting the ribbon.
“Now, we’re looking forward to making the most out of our new dining rooms, café and gardens, and we’d like to invite everyone to keep an eye out for future events!”
